Christian City is hosting a special celebration to honor its 50th anniversary of service to society’s most vulnerable groups — children and seniors.

“This is going to be a major event in the life of Christian City,” said Bob Crutchfield, president and CEO. “We’ll reflect on our past and look towards our future, as we celebrate 50 years of service to children and seniors.”

The golden anniversary celebration is scheduled for Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Delta Flight Museum at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

“We chose Delta because they’ve been such a big part of our history,” Crutchfield said. “Plus, the museum is outstanding, with lots of things to see and do – so we think it will be an exciting venue for our guests.”

Centerpieces of the evening include a 70-piece orchestra, multi-media presentations and gourmet hors’ d’oeuvres.

The evening’s entertainment will feature a Community Chorale of over 200 voices comprised of members of metro area churches, residents and staff at Christian City, and members of the Southern Crescent Chorale. The Peachtree Pops Orchestra, including artists from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, will also perform and accompany the chorale.

Major sponsors include Chick-Fil-A, the Georgia Power Foundation, Delta Air Lines, Kroger, Pruitt Health, Post Properties, and the John and Polly Sparks Foundation.

The 500-acre Christian City campus is located in Union City, just south of the airport, and offers services for seniors and a residential home for children.

Christian City’s senior facilities are the second largest active retirement community in the metro Atlanta area. It includes the largest assisted living facility in the area and a 5-star nursing and rehab center recognized in US News & World Report as one of the best in the nation.

The Children’s Village offers life services and a safe haven for children in crisis from 5 to 17-years-old. The majority of children come to the program as victims of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Christian City offers them a welcoming home environment, loving house parents, and a chance to heal and grow. All services at Christian City are 501(c)3 not-for-profit.

Celebration tickets are $50 and on sale now. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. To find out more or to order tickets, call 770-703-2636 or visit www.christiancity.org.
