Our beloved father, grandfather, and brother was the 8th of 9 children born in Shamokin, Pa. on April 23, 1930 to the late Charles Campbell and Frances Perkowskie.
A Korean and Vietnam War veteran, Norb (Hump) retired from the Army after 23 years of service during which time he received the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal.
After retiring from the US Army, Norb worked for the Cumberland County Joint Planning Board but found his second true passion, affecting the lives of teenagers through teaching. Over the course of two decades, he taught JROTC at Lumberton High School in Lumberton, and Reid Ross High School and Westover High School in Fayetteville, N.C. before retiring again to enjoy his family, friends, and to travel.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, the love of his life, Audrey Yeager in 1993.
He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Rigney of Peachtree City, two grandchildren, Audrey and Matthew Rigney, and one great-grandchild, Nevaeh Sims. Norb is also survived by his brother Bill Campbell of Duluth, Minn., and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of Hospice Advantage.
