Larry Perdue Jones of Peachtree City passed away on December 27, 2014. Larry was born on December 3, 1937 in Thomaston.

He graduated from Druid Hills High School in Atlanta in 1956 and earned two varsity letters on the football team. He was on active duty in the United States Army after high school and served in the Army Reserves for another six years. He attended Georgia Tech, Georgia State (where he earned two varsity letters playing golf), and Emory University. Larry received his law degree in 1963 from Emory University and practiced law in DeKalb and Gwinnett counties for forty-five years.

He was an accomplished amateur golfer and at different times was a member of Atlanta Country Club, Druid Hills Golf Club (where he served on the Board of Directors), Spanish Trail Golf Club in Las Vegas, and most recently Newnan Country Club. Larry was a founding member of the Colt Collectors Association and served on its initial Board of Directors. He was an avid poker player and the author of a book about Colt Commemorative guns.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. John T. Jones, and mother, Madge Perdue Jones. He is survived by his wife, Sandra W. Jones; children Kristen Indermark, Casey Jones and Luke Jones; son-in-law Tres Indermark; daughters-in-law Katey Jones and Natalie Jones; grandchildren Nick Indermark, Elizabeth and Ryan Jones, and Josie and Henry Jones; and stepchildren Kimberlee Coopshaw, Mark Wilson, and Patrick Beach. He also is survived by his sister Carol J. Pettys and nephew William Pettys, and by the mother of his children, Anjo S. Jones.

Graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery, 307 S. Hightower St., Thomaston. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan.
