Single units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) will be offered at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in January 2015. Applications for the January class should be submitted by Dec. 17.

Students of theology, ordained clergy, members of religious orders and qualified people of all faiths (pastors, priests, rabbis, imams and others) are invited to apply for the training.

The program will be supervised by Dr. Jim Taylor and the Rev. Kim Schmitt Holman, chaplains at Piedmont Fayette Hospital and supervisors through the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy, one of several agencies accredited to offer CPE programs.

Through pastoral practice, written case studies, individual supervision and relevant readings, students learn how to develop and sustain genuinely caring pastoral relationships.

In order to make the program more accessible to area clergy and lay persons, units are offered in an extended 20-week format on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
