William “Billy” Bridges, 89, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 7 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Highland Hills Baptist Church, 1370 Briarcliff Road, Macon, Ga. 31211. Reverend Jake Hall and Reverend Cass DuCharme will officiate. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
The family will greet friends in the parlor from 1 p.m. until service time. Mr. Bridges, only son of the late Wiley Remer Bridges and Maude Connell Bridges, was born in Cook County, Ga. on January 21, 1925.
He proudly served his country in World War II, serving our West Coast Security with the U.S. Army Air Corps. Mr. Bridges was an active member, for 49 years, of Highland Hills Baptist Church. He was a member of the Journey Sunday School Class, a former Deacon and taught Sunday school class to young boys. Mr. Bridges retired from Southern Trust Insurance Company as Director of Claims and later became an administrator for Jones, Cork & Miller law firm.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Jean Pryor Bridges; his daughter, Kimberly (Nori) Ohashi of Peachtree City and his beloved granddaughter, Yuri- Grace Bridges Ohashi.
