Anthony “Tony” Adam Chesney, Sr., 71, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away November 14, 2014.
He was born and raised in Struthers, Ohio, where he graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1961. He then served in the United States Air Force. He retired after working over 30 years at Mold-Tech. He came out of retirement and worked for several years at TextureSource. Tony stayed involved in his community as a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and actively volunteering as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #4224 and the Struthers HS Gridiron Club. After moving to Fayette County in 1991, he attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church. In his free time, Tony enjoyed playing golf, vacationing at casinos and resorts with his wife, and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Christina Chesney.
Tony is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years Juanita Chesney of Peachtree City; daughter Theresa (Tim) Mazur of Georgetown, Texas; daughter Crissy (Danny) Stilson of Columbiana, Ohio; daughter Toni (Al) Vacinek of Newnan, Ga.; son T.J. Chesney of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Julie Mazur, Daniel, Samantha, and Logan Stilson; great-granddaughter Abby Stilson; brother Joe (Gay) Chesney of Hubbard, Ohio; sisters Mary Celeste VanSickle, Youngstown, Ohio and Judie (Eddie) Mansour of Pooler, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, November 28, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
