Ronald Baran, 60, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 17, 2014, in his home in Peachtree City, Ga.

Ron was born in Highland Park, Mich. to Michael and Anne Baran. He attended the United States Air Force Academy, graduating in 1976. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and went on to have a successful career as a pilot with Delta Air Lines.

Ron was a generous and kind man who loved his faith and his family, especially his devoted wife, Christine née Tyc, whom he married in 1977. He wanted only to use wisely all that the Lord had given him, so he gave countless hours to volunteer activities and to serving the less fortunate. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his father, Michael; his wife, Christine; his children, Charles Baran, Geneva Leonard, and Barbara Pace; his 13 grandchildren; 5 siblings; and numerous relatives and friends.

A Requiem Mass was held on Friday, November 21, 2014, at his parish, St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Mableton, Ga. His widow has requested that donations be made to the Pregnancy Aid Clinic at pregnancyaidclinic.org.
