The Coweta County Meals on Wheels program delivers daily meals to over 80 home-bound clients each week. The Quilter’s Guild of the Southern Crescent wanted to help make those meals a little brighter. Guild member Jane Coleman recently donated 117 handmade, quilted placemats to the Coweta Meals on Wheels coordinator, Kathy Schrader. Each client receiving a holiday meal will receive one placemat as a gift to keep. Quilters Guild of the Southern Crescent was established in 1998 and consists of over 90 members, living in Fayette and Coweta counties. They not only make quilts and quilted items for themselves, family and friends, but strive to make community service quilt gifts, too. They continually give to the Quilts of Valor organization, Christian City, Promise Place, local sheriffs and other community service organizations.
