Mr. John Max Stratton, age 85, of Tyrone Ga., passed away, Sunday October 19, 2014 peacefully at his home.
John was born November 21, 1928 in Detroit Mich. to Charles and Marie (Vangorder) Stratton. He married the former Betty Wilma Summers in Michigan. John was employed as a Lead Mechanic with Delta Airlines for over 31 years and worked on several ground breaking projects in aviation. John was a dedicated Delta employee until he retired in 1993. He spent a lot of his free time serving with his church Flat Creek Baptist Church and the Giddieons
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie Stratton and his wife Betty Stratton (Summers) in 2002.
John is survived by his two children, Lori Ellis and her husband Phillip of Loganville, Ga.; Mark Richard Stratton and his wife Deanna, of Frankfurt Germany; grandchildren, Brandi Davis, Melanie Galleggos, Brittany Helms, Hillary Barnes, David Cota, Evangeline Stratton; ten great grandchildren; brothers Richard Mark Stratton and Jim Stratton. Also surviving him are his honorary family members Barry and Judy Davis; Karen Hurd and Laura Cumbee.

A celebration of life service was held Friday October 24, 2014 at Parrott Funeral Home, 8355 Senoia Road/Hwy. 74. Fairburn Ga. with Reverend Don Ledbetter officiating. Burial followed at Sharon Memorial Gardens. The family received friends Thursday evening at Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory.
