Two arrests have been made in connection to the double homicide that occurred near Newnan on Oct. 20.

Kenya Nneaka Sewell, 26, of Moreland, and Jarico Deshun Brown, 18, of Memphis. Tenn. were charged with murder in the double homicide that occurred in the early morning hours of Oct. 20 at a residence on Widgeon Trail near Newnan, according to Lt. Col. James Yarbrough with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

Yarbrough said Allen Cantrell, 20, and Wes Watson, 26, were killed at the Widgeon Trail residence of Cantrell’s father.

The motive is thought to have been theft along with some amount of drugs, Yarbrough said.

Yarbrough said Brown shot both men with a handgun, adding that evidence at the scene and interviews led to the apprehension of Brown and Sewell later in the day on Oct. 20.

Yarbrough said Brown and Sewell had been staying at a local motel prior to the murders.

Law enforcement was alerted to the murders after neighbors discovered the bodies, Yarbrough said.
