0The Fayetteville Police Dept. has received its fifth accreditation by the Commission for Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) review board.
CALEA in April conducted an on-site inspection of the department. Department staff heard the results of that inspection July 26.
“The review board made a recommendation that the Fayetteville Police Department be re-accredited,” said department spokesman Steve Crawshaw.
The accreditation certificate was issued by the CALEA at a banquet held by the organization in Schaumburg, Ill.
The Fayetteville Police Dept. has been CALEA-accredited since 2002.
