The Piedmont Fayette Hospital Auxiliary will host the next Red Cross Blood Drive today from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event will be held in the 1279 Building, third floor, Conference Room C. The second annual Summer Craft Bazaar is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.today inside Piedmont Newnan Hospital’s Bistro conference room. The Bistro is located on the lowest level of the hospital. Proceeds from the Bazaar will be donated to the Thomas F. Chapman Family Cancer Wellness at Piedmont Newnan. Because cancer treatment involves more than medical care, free services and programs such as yoga, cooking demos, expressive art classes and counseling are available to anyone affected by cancer at any phase in his or her journey through Cancer Wellness at Piedmont.
Vendors for the Craft Bazaar will be selling: sports team aprons, Zentangle bookmarks and picture frames, wooden puzzles, hand-sewn bags, 18” doll clothes, jewelry, cards, beaded silverware and plate sets, beaded wine charms, watercolor paintings and prints, table trays, Zentangle coasters and more.
Cash, checks or credit cards will be accepted at the event.

The Fayette County Republican Party is hosting a “Roast Congressman Lynn Westmoreland” at the party headquarters at 174 North Glynn Street in Fayetteville from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is a fundraising event for the Fayette County Republican Party to help elect Republicans at the local, state, and federal levels.Doors open at 7 pm. Senoia Area Historical Society will host local author Angela Webster McRae at 7 p.m. at the museum located at 6 Couch Street in Senoia. A former newspaper reporter and magazine editor, Angela McRae is now a freelance editor and writer who also serves as a book critic for Kirkus Reviews magazine. She published her first book, “Dainty Dining,” a cookbook/history book about department store tea rooms, in 2011. She is now at work on a second tea room history book and is editing her first novel, a mystery. She blogs on the topic of teatime six days a week at teawithfriends.blogspot.com.

A juvenile justice forum for all middle and high school students is today at the Fayette Public Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Young females specifically will benefit from the presentation by Desiree Lee, author of “Inmate #1142980.” Lee will tell about her life challenging and changing experience as an honor high school graduate with two scholarships to attend college, and within weeks after graduation, she winds up on the wrong side of the law. Fayette County Sheriff, school officials and other law enforcement officials are invited to participate in the forum. Also, all middle and high school principals, teachers and counselors are invited.
Fairburn’s Southside Theatre Guild’s upcoming musical production of “110 Degrees in the Shade” is today. The show is a sizzling musical based on N. Richard Nash’s book and play, “The Rainmaker.” The musical centers around Lizzie, a spinster woman, who lives in her family’s ranch, in a hot and drought-stricken American Southwest town. The plot centers on her search for love and her choice between two suitors: Starbuck, a charismatic con man posing as a rainmaker who can bring rainfall to the drought-stricken, and Sheriff File, the town’s most eligible bachelor.
