The opportunity for Coweta County voters to take advantage of early voting is about to come to an end. May 12 through May 16 will mark the last time voters can weigh-in on candidates featured in the three contested races in the May 20 primary.

Superintendent of Elections Jane Scoggins said as of Thursday afternoon 553 Coweta voters had cast their ballots.

The only contested races will be found in three non-partisan seats on the Coweta County Board of Education.

Early voting runs through May 16 from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the voter registration office at 22 East Broad Street in Newnan. The office will also be open today during the same hours.
The Coweta County Board of Education has three contested races.

District 1 school board member Amy Dees will face former educator Monica Terrell.

District 4 school board member Graylin Ward will face commercial lender Linda Menk.

The primary election will be held May 20. The primary runoff voting date is July 22. The general election will be held Nov. 4.
