Public safety team to tackle Tough Mudder April 26

A group of Fayette firefighters and police officers has been in training for a physical challenge to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

They are seeking donations which will all go towards WWP, which aids disabled veterans as they return home from the battlefield.

The local group of public safety participants will participate April 26 in a “Tough Mudder” event in Fairburn, which includes a 10-12 mile run with between 20 and 25 military-style obstacles to complete.

The local team has committed that every penny raised will go toward the Wounded Warrior Project, and a check will be presented at the Tough Mudder event.

To efficiently collect funds raised and maintain accountability, the group is asking for checks to be written payable to PCVFA (the Peachtree City Volunteer Firefighters Association), which already has a standing nonprofit account. Checks may be mailed to PCVFA at 105 Peachtree Parkway North, Peachtree City, Ga. 30269.

All donations are tax deductible.

Participating agencies include the Fayetteville police and fire departments, the Peachtree City police and fire departments, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the Fayette County Fire/EMS Department, the Fayette County District Attorney’s Office, the Fayette County Solicitor’s Office, the Tyrone Police Department and Fayette County 911.

The Wounded Warrior Project’s mission is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members. WWP provides unique direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
