The Rust College A’Cappella Choir will present a concert at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City on Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m.
According to Mary Gipson, president of the Atlanta Rust College Alumni Chapter, “The world famous Rust College A’Cappella Choir is one of America’s most renowned choirs which features broad repertoire of classical, semi-classical, spirituals, opera, contemporary and traditional gospel.
“The choir has captured the attention of prestigious audiences world-wide.” Rust College is a historically black college connected with the United Methodist Church.
Established in 1866 by the Freedman’s Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church, it is in Holly Springs, Miss.
The choir has sung at Christ Our Shepherd at least three times previously.
All are invited. There is no charge, but an offering will be collected for the college’s scholarship fund.
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church is on the corner of Ga. Hwy. 54 and Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree City.
