State wrestling tournament is this weekend

The stage is set for this weekend’s traditional wrestling state tournament, with a number of competitors from Fayette expected to be on the mat when the action begins Thursday, weather permitting, at the Arena at Gwinnett.

In the AAAA classification, the Fayette County Tigers have the most wrestlers from any local school, with a contingent of eight.
They are Caleb Seller (106), John Axelberg (126), Cody McMillan (138), Kershon Manciel (145), Hunter Seidel (160), Kyle Leinberger (170), Kimani Nasrullah (182) and Christian Ingalls (220).

The Sandy Creek Patriots are represented by Jake Lee (106) and Conner Dial (113).
In AAAAA, the Whitewater Wildcats are sending five athletes to state, including Reid Loveless (106), Zack Thorne (132), Alex Walker (160), Barrett Martin (170) and Christian Winslett (182).

Four members of the Starr’s Mill Panthers will be on hand: Jonathan Parrish (126), Jake Shaper (152), Cory Carter (220) and Alex Ashley (285).
Ryan Prescott (145) is competing for McIntosh.
Landmark has three qualifiers in the A bracket. They are Payton Hayes (126), Joshua Cobb (152) and Titus Creamer (170).
