Fayetteville Main Street, along with Chick-fil-A will host its last Lunch on the Lawn for the summer this Friday. The event is a great opportunity for local employees and residents to get outside on their lunch break, and enjoy the beautiful weather and music on the Historic Courthouse lawn in Downtown Fayetteville. Lunch on the Lawn will take place from 11.30 am – 1.30 p.m, and everyone is welcome to attend this community event. Chick-fil-A will provide a box lunch for $5, and those attending can always bring their own lunch as well. Live music will be provided by Jake Winslett for the entire 2-hour period. The 9th Annual Cruisin’ to the Oldies Car Show on Main Street in downtown Senoia will is today from11a.m.-5 p.m. Always a popular event, the car show draws entries and visitors from all over Georgia and a few other states as well. “The Car Guys,” Scott Sargeant and Charlie Filkins, will be emceeing the event. The registration fee is $20. and will begin at 8 am. Dash plaques will be presented to the first 300 cars registered. This year’s show will be limited to cars 1988 and older. The crowd pleasing “Mustangs,” will play from noon to 3 p.m. The Mustangs perform oldies but goodies from the 50’s to the 70’s. They have performed throughout the Southeast and have become a very popular attraction. The Varsity will be back again this year cooking their all-time favorites. Churn ‘N Scoop will offer homemade ice cream and additional food vendors will provide Hawaiian shaved ice, funnel cakes, cotton candy and barbeque. Fayette County Public Library has partnered with Horizon Theatre Company in Atlanta to present scenes from “Third Country,” by Suehyla El-Attar, a new play inspired by events in Clarkston. While guests enjoy complimentary desserts, playwright El-Attar and cast members from the Horizon Theatre world premiere production will talk about the story of “Third Country,” perform selected scenes from the play, and answer audience questions. The Fayette Humane Society will hold its second annual charity golf tournament, “Fore the Paws,” at the Braelinn Golf Club in Peachtree City. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the shotgun start for the 4-person scramble will take place at 9 a.m. The $85 per person ticket price includes green fee, golf cart, range balls, continental breakfast, and awards luncheon buffet. Proceeds will be used to fund Fayette Humane Society’s spay/neuter program and to provide veterinary care for rescued cats and dogs. Patrick Dennis owner of the Decatur Gallery and the co-founder and President of the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, LLC will present a program today at the meeting of FAACE. The meeting is held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Peachtree City and begins at 7 p.m. The public is welcome. Dennis is co-founder and manager of popular and successful festivals, outdoor public art events and shows such as the Chastain Arts Festival, the Spring and Fall Fine Art Festival on Ponce, the Summer Piedmont Art Show and the Sandy Springs Art Show. The tour takes place at 9 a.m. It will begin and end at the SAHS Headquarters/Museum at 6 Couch Street in Senoia, where riders will have the opportunity to view a brief history of the town and images of some of Senoia’s key citizens and structures from the past, then ride through the Senoia Historic District, making stops in front of homes and churches. Afterward, enjoy light refreshments and a chance to win a door prize and take a walk through time. Recommended donations are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 13.
