A single shot was fired through the door of a Fayetteville security service over the weekend. No one was in the building at the time of the incident.

Fayetteville Police spokesman Steve Crawshaw said officers received a complaint of a gunshot late Friday night in the area of Washington Street in central Fayetteville. Officers responded to the scene but found no evidence of a disturbance.

The owner of ASI security services arrived to open the office Monday morning and found a single bullet hole in the metal entry door, Crawshaw said. The bullet penetrated the door and may have hit a piece of office equipment, Crawshaw added.
