William Timothy (Tim to his friends and family) Montford, of Fayetteville Ga., loving spouse, adored uncle, adopted Dad, avid fisherman, family historian, Georgia Bulldog fanatic, Allman Brothers Band connoisseur, Corvette aficionado and cherished friend; passed on Tuesday, August 20.

Born on May 27, 1958 to Peggy Montford and the late William Bryan Montford of Macon, Ga. and Sutherland Bluff, Ga., Tim was raised in Macon. He moved to the Atlanta area in the early 1980’s to work in Retail Management positions for 35 + years.

No moss ever gathered on this “Ramblin Man”. He was always the life of the party and though it may have been a “Stormy Monday,” on occasion, he was never tied to the “Whippin Post,” as he’d just ramble on down Highway 41 with an ABB tune setting the tone.

He was an adventurous spirit with a fierce loyalty and devotion to his family and friends. His love, kindness and support for nieces and nephews was that of a father’s. He loved his animals and through the years was completely devoted to Sadie and “The Bruise.”

He is survived by his spouse, Brenda Smith Montford of Fayetteville; a daughter Ashley Montford of Kennesaw, Ga.; two sisters Cynthia Montford of Cumming and Suzanne Stubbs of Fayetteville, Ga. and a brother Vic Montford of Gray, Ga. along with many nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held at Carmichael-Hemperly Funeral Home, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, Ga. 30269 on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. Services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 24th at the funeral home. Burial followed at Shiloh Methodist Church in Lumber City, Ga. at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
