Registration for the lottery drawing is taking place now at the school and will close on August 1 at 2 p.m. The lottery drawing will be held on August 2 to select 22 students for the class.
Students must be four years old on or before September 1, 2013 to be eligible for the pre-K program. Students who are eligible for kindergarten may not register for pre-K.
Residency information and the child’s birth certificate must be presented at the time of the lottery registration. Once a child is selected, parents will be notified and must go to the school system’s Welcome Center to provide additional documentation to complete the registration process.
Students who are not in the school zone of Sara Harp Minter Elementary may register for placement on an out-of-zone list and will be eligible to attend the pre-K class if there are any seats left after the first day of school on August 12.
