Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Thames Parrott (2/1/1920 – 7/8/2013) Fayetteville, Ga. Elizabeth was born and raised in Red Oak, Ga. and retired from The Trust Company of Ga. (now Sun Trust) after 31 years.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Lynn Thames, sisters, Edna Thames Cowart; Anna Faye Miller; brother, J.H. (Bo) Thames; son-in-law, Ed Thomason, Jr.  She was married to her husband, Frank Everett Parrott, Sr., for 71 years. She was a member of North Fayette Methodist Church and prior to that was an active member teaching Sunday School and working with the young people while at Red Oak Christian Church.  She was a member of the North Fayette Prime Timers, Garden Club, Homemakers Club, a former Assistant Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed flower arranging and working in her yard.  

Elizabeth is survived by three children, F. Everett Parrott, Jr. and wife Sheila of Gay, Ga.; Mary Lynn Parrott Thomason of Fayetteville, Ga.; and Stanley Thames Parrott and wife Sophia of Fayetteville, Ga.; grandchildren, Stephanie  (Eric) Rose, Brian Thomason, Will (Betsy) Parrott, Traci Thomason, Julia (Jeremy) Callahan, and Jason (Brooke) Parrott; plus six great-grandchildren, along with a sister-in-law, Sue Thames of Barnesville, Ga. and numerous nieces and nephews; caretaker/niece, Debbie Stacks.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11 o’clock at the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Camp Memorial Park. Elizabeth was a devoted wife, a loving and caring mother, had a warm and generous heart and an outgoing personality. The family received friends Wednesday evening from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn. 770-964-4800.
