Peachtree City police are investigating the armed robbery of two convenience stores within a 24-hour period this past weekend.
Police indicated Tuesday they may be looking for the same suspect, whose face was hidden by a motorcycle helmet Saturday evening at the Flash Foods store on Crosstown Drive around 9:45 p.m.
Police said a white male entered the store, demanded money from the clerk and got away on a sports-type motorcycle. The robber was described as being “six feet tall, between 200 and 230 pounds with light eyes, fair skin and a large build.”
The second incident happened at the Pit Stop on Petrol Point and Ga. Highway 54 around 8:15 Sunday night, police said, as K-9 teams searched the area to no avail.
The robber, described as a white male “approximately six feet tall, medium build with scruffy facial hair” fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen in the area of Eastbrook Bend, police said.
In the Pit Stop incident, the robber was wearing a red and white ball cap, police said.
“The offender approached the cashier and implied he was armed,” police said in a press release referencing both robberies Tuesday afternoon. “In neither case was a weapon actually seen.”
Several customers were in the store at the time of the Flash Foods robbery and assisted the police investigation, officials said.
Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call police at 770-487-8866 or submit an online tip to the police department on its Facebook or Twitter pages, or via text by texting “PTCTIPS” plus the tip to 274637.
