Patrick Leo Cotrona, age 33, of Atlanta, Ga. died on Saturday, May 25, 2013. He was born January 26, 1980 in Troy, N.Y. to Frank and Paulette Cotrona.

He grew up as an active member of his community in Peachtree City, Ga. through his church at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, and achieved many academic privileges including Science Olympiad, Governor’s Honors and National Merit Scholarship. He graduated with honors from McIntosh High School with the class of 1998 and went on to earn his B.S. in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003, where he graduated summa cum laude and with a minor in Japanese. He enjoyed his career as a computer programmer and engineer. He also loved video games, board games and was an avid reader with over 2,000 books in his collection. Patrick possessed amazing gifts that not only included computers, but also writing, languages and an incredibly sharp wit. He loved to travel and had spent some time in France, South Africa and Japan. He was a beer connoisseur and enjoyed cooking. Patrick was a proud, loving and kind son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to the many people who knew him and loved him.

The funeral service was held Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, Ga. Deacon Ben Gross officiated.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by sisters, Kate Cotrona Krumm & her husband Gregory of Roswell, Ga., Karen Cotrona Annis & her husband Wesley of Newnan, Ga.; paternal grandparents, Frank & Dorothy Cotrona of Cohoes, N.Y.; maternal grandparents, Leo & Doris Rancourt of Auburndale, Fla.; uncles, Michael Cotrona, David Cotrona, Mark Rancourt, Mike Rancourt, Tom Manoleff & Peter Bujanow; aunts, Marianne Manoleff, Jackie Bujanow, Cindy Rancourt & Debrorah Rancourt; nieces, Gabriella Krumm & Ava Annis; many cousins, an enormous amount of wonderful friends, other extended family as well as an Atlanta community that will remember him.
