Josie Odom Galloway of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away Feb. 8, 2013 at home.

Josie was born Jan. 22, 1924 in Red Springs, N.C.

She is survived by her husband Herbert Eugene Galloway, Jr., after 70 years of marriage. Their son Herbert Eugene Galoway III and his wife Margaret Holmes Galloway of Raleigh, N.C., daughter Linda Lee Connell and granddaughter Laura Connell Bondoc and her husband Eric Bondoc of Jacksonville, Fla.

Josie enjoyed modeling and working at Lalon’s of West End in Atlanta, Ga. in her younger years. She also was very active in playing bridge and hosting bridge parties in her home on Peachtree City Lake and having pontoon boat rides with her friends and family. She and Herbert enjoyed ballroom dancing taught here in Peachtree City and showed their skill on the dance floor when taking cruises. Josie loved being surrounded by her yard, which she enjoyed planting, and the beauty of her home.

No local services will be held.

Funeral Home, Carl Mowell & Son, Peachtree City, Ga. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Maxton, N.C.
