A video showcasing the “Bring Your Own Technology” (BYOT) program at Whitewater High has made it into the finals of the Follett Challenge, sponsored by the Follett Software Company, and with the public’s help, could land the top prize of the cash equivalent of $60,000 worth of Follett products and services.

The three and one-half minute video provides the viewer with an overview of how the implementation of BYOT has changed the learning environment at the school. It explains how the school’s program promotes critical thinking, communication, creativity, and collaboration between students and among teachers and administrators.

To help Whitewater win the grand prize, or one of the other five prizes ranging from $5,000 to $35,000 cash equivalent of Follett products and services, go to http://follettchallenge.com/video.cfm?id=115, watch the video and cast your vote. The public can cast votes once per day for the video now through March 15.

The Follett Challenge winners will be announced April 5.

The top five winners will be determined based on the final rubric score from the panel of judges plus the number of votes the submitted video receives.

The Peoples Choice Award ($5,000) will be based solely on the number of votes received.
