COS will host marriage seminar
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will offer a Marriage Seminar, “Love Talk,” on Feb. 10, from 2-5 p.m. at the church. Making use of the work of Drs. Les and Leslie Parrot, the seminar will focus on helpful communication strategies in relationships. The public is invited; there is no fee, but reservations should be made by calling 770-487-8717.
Ash Wednesday, Lenten services set
Word of God Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will have an Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. The worship service will include Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes. Wednesday evening Lenten meditation services will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 20, 27, March 6, 13, and 20. Word of God is at 303 Kelly Dr., Suite 10, in Peachtree City.
Prayer group meets at Summit
An interdenominational community prayer group meets at The Summit Family Resource Center, 1373 Ga. Highway 92 S. Fayetteville, from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Thursday mornings. Everyone is invited. Call 770-460-3335 for more information.
Real Life Center needs donations
The Real Life Center, which operates a food pantry in Tyrone, has a continuous need for food/pantry items. Donations can be dropped off at the Real Life Center, 382 Senoia Rd., Tyrone, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. – noon, and Thursday evenings from 5-7 p.m. The center also maintains thruft stores in Tyrone and Fayetteville. Summit offers free tutoring
The Family Resource Center at The Summit Presbyterian Church offers free tutoring for elementary and high school students. Classes meet on Wednesdays from 4-5 and 5-6 p.m. Help is offered in math, reading, homework, science, and language arts. Tutors are supervised by certified teachers.
