Fayetteville First United Methodist Church (FFUMC) will host a silent auction and dinner before the Candlelight Concert on Sunday, Dec.16, at 5 p.m.

This year marks the 13th performance of the free Candlelight Concert featuring violinist Sonja Squires and pianist Rick Massengale and soloists Anne Michelle Plummer and Ken White.

The evening will include dinner followed by a special Christmas performance.

“This is the highlight of my musical year,” said Rick Massengale, music director. “To think we started so small in the chapel and to have seen it grow over the years to what we now have is exciting. It’s a thrill to work with so many great musicians and vocalists and then to be able to offer a concert to the community. To see the way the community has responded to our concert is very gratifying.”

Dinner tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the church office by Sunday, Dec. 2. The dinner will be catered by Outback Steakhouse, City Cafe and Chick-fil-A. Choose from steak, chicken or vegetarian dish plus a salad, baked potato, dessert and drink.

A variety of gift baskets will be available to bid on at the silent auction during dinner beginning at 5 p.m. The auction will end at 6:15 p.m. and the concert will begin at 6:30 p.m.

All proceeds for the event will benefit Smart Lunch, Smart Kid and Stop Hunger Now.
