Mr. Morgan was born in Fayette County on December 18, 1938.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest W. Morgan, Sr. and Lula Mae Cox Morgan; sister, Margene Lindsey; brothers, Willie Dan Cox, Betrum Cox. He was a member of Panhandle Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Morgan; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and April Morgan; daughters and son-in-law, Geraldine and Larry Knowles, Anita Morgan-Brannon; grandchildren, Kasey Nicholson and husband, Brandon , Jarrett Morgan, Tyler Knowles, Brad and Morgan Brannon, Christian Brannon, all of Barnesville; great grandson, Trevor McWhorter; great granddaughter, Abigail Chamber; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilbur and Nancy Morgan of Fayetteville, Ricky and Cassie Cox of Orchard Hill, J.W. Morgan of Fayetteville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa Johnson of Griffin, Clara and Wayne Harper of Griffin, Sheila and Steve Landers of Morrow, Ruth Ellison of Fayetteville, Dixie and Monroe Ellison of Fayetteville; his best friend his dog, Chunky; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Ernest Wesley Morgan, Jr. was Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Pastor Marlin Parrott officiated. Interment followed in Camp Memorial Gardens.
Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 West McIntosh Road, Griffin, was in charge of arrangements.
