Gloria Louise Crawford, 85, of Fayetteville

Gloria Louise Crawford passed away Oct. 26, 2012. She was born June 10, 1927 in Butler, Penn. Gloria was a faithful servant of Christ and a life-long member of the Christian Church. At the time of her death, she was a member of First Christian Church, Tyrone, Ga.

She was employed as a bookeeper at Nationwide Insurance, in Butler, for 45 years. She was always involved with community activities. She served as a Grey Lady at Butler Memorial Hospital for many years. She also was a member of and served as president of the Butler Women’s Better Business Club. Even though she never married or had children, she enjoyed participating in the lives of her nieces and nephews. After her retirement she moved to Daytona Beach, Fla. and then to Fayetteville, Ga. in 2002. In 2009 Gloria moved to Christian City Convalescent and Retirement Center.

Gloria was the eighth of nine children belonging to Jesse and John Crawford. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings; except one sister, Vivian M. Pontius of Peachtree City, Ga. She has several nieces, nephews and their families scattered throughout the country.
