Mrs. Waunitta Singleton Jones, age 89, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at Doctor’s Hospice in Fayetteville.
Mrs. Jones was born on May 27, 1923 in Gwinnett County, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Owen Singleton and Maggie Jackson Singleton. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she severed as church pianist 63 years until her health declined, she also was a former Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school director.
Survivors include husband of 64 years, Reverend Wendell C. Jones; children and their spouses, Arlene and Freddie Quick, John L. and Gail Whitley, Cathy and Daniel Selman, Stanley B. Jones; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Waunitta S. Jones was Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 3 p.m at Pine Grove Baptist Church. Reverend John Jenkins and Reverend Scott Hollingsworth officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Jones was be carried to the church to lie-in-state from 12 noon until the hour of service.
