Seventeen-year-old Fayetteville resident Joshua M. Staley has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide resulting from an Aug. 10 traffic collision on Ga. Highway 54 in Fayetteville where 17-year-old Fayetteville resident Malcom Williams was killed.

Staley was charged Sept. 6 with second-degree homicide by vehicle and failure to obey a traffic control device, according to law enforcement reports.

The two-car collision occurred on Hwy. 54 at Sandy Creek Road.

An investigation determined that Bismark S. Delarosa was driving his 2004 Honda Accord south on Sandy Creek Road with Williams in the passenger seat when they had a green light and entered the intersection.

At that time, a second vehicle driven eastbound on Hwy. 54 by Staley also entered the intersection despite a red light, Fayette County deputies said. Staley’s 2008 Toyota Prius struck the passenger’s side of Delarosa’s car, deputies said.
