A manager at the Peachtree City Water and Sewer Authority has been selected for a leadership position at the Georgia chapter of the American Water Works Association.
Keisha Lisbon Thorpe, who oversees the technical services division of WASA, was chosen as a junior trustee and will serve as a member of the executive committee for the AWWA state board of directors. She has already begun working with GAWWA’s communication and scholarship programs along with other responsibilities.
Lisbon Thorpe also has co-chaired the Georgia Model Water Tower Competition, an educational engineering challenge for middle school students that is offered by GAWWA and the Georgia Association of Water Professionals. Lisbon Thorpe also has chaired the GAWP diversity committee.
With more than 12 years experience, Lisbon Thorpe currently oversees the authority’s engineering, information technology, construction management, geographic information systems, utility locales, asset management and fats, oils and greases management.
Lisbon Thorpe is a registered engineer who holds the highest operator’s license for a public water supply system with a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Florida.
“Keisha not only provides leadership and expertise as Division Manager of Technical Services for the Authority, but she also is very well respected by her peers and other water professionals within our industry,” says Stephen Hogan, PCWASA General Manager. “We are very fortunate to have her on staff at the Authority, and I know she will be just as valuable of an addition to the Georgia AWWA Board.”
