Debbie Britt is the new executive director of community and public relations for Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
Britt, who will assume her new role in mid-September, will serve as the community relations liaison between the hospital, the physician network and the community.
With primary responsibility for public relations, communications and community outreach, Britt also will oversee the hospital’s auxiliary volunteer program as well as Piedmont Fayette’s Sixty Plus Older Adult Services.
She brings more than 30 years of professional experience in corporate communications, public and community relations, and non-profit management to her new role at Piedmont Fayette. Britt also had a stint as editor of Fayette Woman Magazine.
“We are very excited to have Debbie on board,” said Michael Burnett, chief administrative officer of Piedmont Fayette Hospital. “Her breadth of experience and her professional accomplishments in the community will be an asset to our overall community outreach efforts.”
Prior to joining Piedmont Fayette, Britt served as president and CEO of Fayette Senior Services, Inc. (FSS) since 2007. During her tenure at FSS, Britt was instrumental in helping to establish the hospital’s Sixty Plus program in Fayette County and the ensuing strategic partnership between Piedmont Fayette Hospital and FSS.
“I am honored to join the Piedmont Fayette team,” said Britt. “Piedmont Fayette is widely recognized for the delivery of high quality patient and family-centered care, and for their tireless dedication to the wellness of our community. I am looking forward to working alongside this talented team of professionals and expanding my role in the community.”
In conjunction with her departure from FSS, Britt was appointed as secretary of FSS’ Board of Directors. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Fayette Chamber of Commerce and the Meals on Wheels Association of America.
