Rodney M. Albaugh, age 70, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012.
He was born on September 6, 1941 in the Upper Ohio Valley to Elmer & Leona Albaugh.
He attended the University of Florida and graduated Bethany College in 1965. He had a 35 year career in the paint and coating industry. He retired in 2001 from Benise-Dowling. In retirement he stayed active playing golf several times a week. He was a member of the Flat Creek Golf Club and particularly enjoyed playing with the PTC Golden Golfers Group. Rodney felt that Peachtree City was the best kept secret in Georgia and loved to walk the golf cart paths. He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Joann Albaugh.
He is survived by a son, Michael D. Albaugh, PHD; and daughter-in-law, Megan Albaugh; two daughters, Alaire Knox and Terri Carter; several grandchildren; brother, Dennis Albaugh; and several close friends, Wayne Franz, Eileen Willett, Mike Velt, Joan Ernst, Kay Stites, and Ed Delaney.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or to the Fayette County Humane Society.
