There has been much speculation recently as to why so many Hollywood stars, and indeed sports heroes, support the Democrats and President Obama. I have a theory.
Most of them are immensely rich, easily falling into the wealthiest “one per cent” category, which Democrats seem to despise and increasingly target.
These stars live luxuriously in fabulous mansions, out of touch with the average joe, but by claiming to be fervent Democrats they cleverly deflect the criticism heaped upon other “one per centers” by the left wing.
They publicize and organize fund-raisers and loudly espouse popular causes but rarely, unlike Bill Maher, sit down and write out a large check from their own account.
