A Fayetteville man was arrested May 4 on charges of sexual battery after he grabbed a female employee at the Walmart at the Fayette Pavilion.

Timmie Jay Jackson, 29, of Bates Avenue, was charged with sexual battery and obstruction in the May 4 incident, according to Fayetteville Det. Mike Whitlow.

The incident occurred when a Walmart employee said she saw Jackson walking around the store talking to himself, Whitlow said. The female employee approached Jackson and asked if he was all right, Whitlow said. Jackson then grabbed the employee’s buttocks with one hand and then let go saying, “I am now,” Whitlow said.

Whitlow said the employee reported the incident and three Fayetteville officers responded to the scene. Officers began interviewing Jackson but the questioning ended when Jackson began fighting with the three officers. One of the officers used a taser to gain control of the situation, Whitlow added.

Whitlow said Jackson was checked by EMTs prior to being taken to jail.

Jackson is listed by the Ga. Dept. of Corrections as having been released on parole in July 2010. He was serving time after convictions in 2008 for the sale of marijuana and the sale of methyldioxymethamphetamine.
