Mrs. Barbara Ruth Boyles, age 72 of Newnan died at her residence on March 10, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Through even the darkest days with her terminal illness, she “gave God the glory” and entered into glory the way she lived her life. To meet her was to love her and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her children and grandchildren were her heart.

Barbara was born in Atlanta on May 15, 1939 to the late William Porter Canter and Lucy Stephens Canter. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her grandson, Jadon Steward and sister, Pat Armstrong.

She was a faithful member of Heatherwood Baptist Church for over 15 years and retired from Chick-Fil-A Dwarf House in Fayetteville after 12 years. She always began her day with devotionals with the Lord. While serving the Lord in her church at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina, she was very involved in the youth ministry. Her hobbies were flowers, gardening, bird watching, and time spent with family.

Surviving are her sons, William Wynegar (Toni) of Evans, Ga., and Kevin Boyles (April) of Senoia; daughters, Sara Steward (Jimmy) of Newnan and Pamela Swetnam (Sean) of Molena; brother, Billy Canter (Faye) of Enigma, Ga.; sisters, Abbie Fletcher of Alabama and Sherrall Clements (Gerald ) of Mississippi. She had 8 grandchildren: Jadon (deceased), Mason, Andrew, Evan, Nathan, Logan, Savannah, and Christopher. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.higginshillcrestchapel.com.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March16, 2012 at Heatherwood Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Daugherty and Dr. Joel Dover officiating, with remains to lie in state beginning at 1:00 p. m.

Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Sean Swetnam, Randy Fulford, Robert Clements, Don Fletcher, and grandchildren – Mason Steward, Andrew Wynegar, Evan Swetnam, Nathan Wynegar, and Logan Swetnam.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, 6-8 p.m.
