The Heritage Christian Church Weekday Preschool, which recently changed its name to Heritage Christian Academy, will host an open house this Thursday, March 8, from 10 a.m.-noon and from 6-8 p.m. The academy is open to children ages 6 months to 5 years old.
According to Linda Yelton, academy director, the school is changing its name to reflect its continued commitment to excellence and to position the school to begin kindergarten classes.
The daily school schedule will be adjusted from 9 a.m. -noon daily with an option to stay until 1 p.m. The same programmatic elements of music, art, Spanish, PE and chapel will still be provided and included in the tuition cost from 9 a.m. – noon.
Parents will have the option to have their child stay until 1 p.m. with additional scholastic programming that will include “Friends at Play,” (offered Monday-Friday), science lab on Tuesdays, gymnastics on Wednesdays, and “Fun in the Kitchen” on Thursdays.
Afternoon class sessions, which may fit one’s family schedule, will be available. These sessions will mimic the morning sessions with the same scholastic programming and will run from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The Heritage Academy uses the A-Beka (phonics based) and Wee Learn Curriculum (faith based centers). School fun days include a bike rodeo, fall festival, luau, pajama day, western day, circus day, visit from Dr. Seuss and the tooth fairy, Thanksgiving feast and class parties.
“The Heritage Christian Academy staff and I are excited about what lies ahead for the future of our school,” Yelton said. “Your child’s education and development are very important to us.”
Open enrollment begins on March 5 for those interested. Visit the new website, www.HeritageAcademyOnline.com to learn more.
