Byron Carroll, 68, of Fayetteville, passed away on Mar. 1, 2012. He was in the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam. He retired from Delta Airlines after 30 years where he worked as a lead mechanic. He worked in real estate with Bullard Realty, Fayette County Board of Equalization, and heating and air repairs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Eleanor Carroll; step-son Jason Hill; and sister, Patricia Teal. He is survived by his wife, Lylah Carroll of Fayetteville; sons Byron Keith (Jean McDaniel-Carroll) of McDonough; daughter, Elizabeth Carroll (Mike) Drennan of McKinney, Texas; step-son, Trevor (Natalie) Hill of Newnan; step-daughter, Lindsay (Scott) Eason of Raleigh, N.C.; sister, Veronica (Norm) Curns of McDonough; and 11 grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Pastor Doug Miolen officiated. The burial followed at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family received friends Sunday, March 4.
