Alice Loraine Parker Griffin of Peachtree City

Alice Loraine Parker was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on Jan. 29, 1954. She was the second born of five siblings, born to the late Marjorie Cox and Larus Parker.

Alice resided in Los Angeles until the family moved to Denver in 1969 and she attended George Washington High School where she was an honor student. Alice completed her undergraduate education at Colorado State University were she received a BS in Political Science. She then attended University of Southern California (USC) where she received a Law Degree. She also completed her Master of Studies in Public Administration.

Alice had a thriving career as a corporate lawyer at the following institutions: Legal Vice President, Central Bank and Trust (Denver); Attorney Household International Credit Card Service; Compliance Director, Ultradata Corporation; Legal Compliance Officer and Quality Control Director, Community Lending; Attorney, Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

While working in Denver, Alice met Stanley Griffin while working at Central Bank and Trust and the two were married on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1987. The couple relocated to San Jose, Calif. where they welcomed the love of their life, Saharra Elise Griffin, who was born on Jan. 24, 1995.

The family relocated to Peachtree City, Ga. in 2000 where Alice dedicated herself to being the best mother and wife she could be. She was actively involved in numerous community and school activities where she served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and on school council committees for the elementary, middle and high school levels. Alice was a die-hard volleyball mom and member of the Jack & Jill Organization. She loved being a mom more than anything.

She departed this life on Feb. 2, 2012 peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Stanley Griffin, her loving husband; Saharra Griffin, her darling daughter; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Carl J. Mowell & Son Chapel with Reverend Augustus Curry and Dr. Jamelle McKenzie officiating. The family received friends Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
