Mrs. Martha Simmons Shelnutt, of Fayetteville, passed away on Jan. 10, 2012 at the age of 90.
Mrs. Shelnutt was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a faithful member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church and a retiree of South Fulton Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband, O.W. Shelnutt; great-grandchild Morgan Millians; sister Douglas Davis; and brothers Ed Simmons and Murray Simmons.
She is survived by her sons; Morris W. “Woody” Shelnutt and his wife Connie, Wendell E. Shelnutt and his wife Lois; daughter Eleanor Albea; grandchildren Sonya Millians, Leigh Ann Allen, Michael Shelnutt, Bryan Shelnutt, Stuart Albea, Scott Albea, and Shawn Albea; and great-grandchildren Bella, Austen and Jackson Millians and Allie Albea; sisters Bertha Smith and Mary Bickers.
Funeral services were held Fri., Jan. 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
Rev. Dr. David Campbell, Rev. Mark Westmoreland and Rev. Dee Shelnutt officiated. Interment followed at Camp Memorial Park. The family received friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
