The Crochet Club at the Summit Family YMCA is working on leg warmers, newborn baby caps, adult caps, scarves and tube scarves. Besides traditional crocheting, they also knit using round or oblong looms. A newborn cap can be made by knitting a rectangle, gathering one end and attaching a pompom. Susan Shapiro, left, said they also “schmooze” a lot, simply visiting. With Susan are Lyane Watson, center, and Marian Estes, right. The Crochet Club meets the first and third Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The Summit Y serves Coweta and Fayette counties. Photo/Special.
