Two masked gunmen Thursday morning robbed the Verizon storeat 105 Promenade Parkway, across from the Fayette Pavilion, and are being sought by Fayetteville Police.

Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw said the armed robbery occurred at 9:12 a.m. as two men described by employees as black males wearing masks and dark clothing entered the store, which is in the same center as FedEx Kinko’s Office Print and Ship store.

Crawshaw said the men produced handguns and demanded cell phones.

The men left with an undisclosed number of cell phones and entered a white Kia or Hyundai with a red drive-out tag.

Crawshaw said the vehicle was last seen traveling north on Ga. Highway 85.

There were no customers in the store and none of the employees were injured in the armed robbery, Crawshaw added.

Anyone with information pertaining to the robbery is asked to contact the Fayetteville Police Dept. at 770-461-4441.
