It’s now easier than ever to support deployed American soldiers over the holidays.

HeroBox, a non-profit in Tyrone dedicated to that mission, has pre-packed and pre-labeled Heroboxes ready to be picked up. Participants only have to drop them off at the post office and pay the postage, which runs from $12 to $14 for each box.

The Heroboxes can be picked up at 500 Swanson Road, Suite 1 in Tyrone.

“We wanted to give everyone the opportunity to get involved,” said HeroBox founder Ryan Housley. “Not everyone has the time to purchase items and pack a box for the troops. So we made it easy, we’ll pack and label the box. All you have to do is pick it up from our office and ship it.”

There are hundreds of packed and labeled Heroboxes read to go, organizers said.

HeroBox’s mission is to provide the physical items and moral support our heroes need while they are away from home protecting our freedom and also give citizens a chance to to get involved and make a direct impact on the lives of their heroes.

With sponsors and volunteers in all 50 states, HeroBox has grown 100 percent each year. Last year, HeroBox committed over 90 percent of every dollar to program expenses.
