Help for MHS player ‘wins the day’ for all

This year our head football coach’s theme was “Win The Day” and for our family, the football coaches, the football team and the entire school “Won the Day.”

On Friday, Oct. 21, during the third quarter at our McIntosh vs. Fayette County football game, our son, Patrick, was severely injured on a tackle play.

After spending seven nights, three of which were in ICU at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite, he is recovering remarkably.

In a time when good news seems scarce I just wanted to share with our community this story of kindness our school has given us.

First of all, a huge thanks to the EMTs on duty that night; thanks to our principal, Lisa Fine, for her visits and kind words; to our athletic director, Jason Byers, for his visits and support; to Coach Belknap and his wife for their visits and encouragement; to our athletic trainer, Daniel Hayes. His fast actions that night really helped Pat, as well as his visits.

Thank you to the wonderful support from the McIntosh Cheerleaders and coach, to the McIntosh Band, to Fayette County Coach Davis and his players for the kind letter written to Patrick, and to the amazing, and I mean truly amazing, nursing staff, doctors and surgeon at Children’s — they are the very best!

Thanks to the our guidance counselor, Sonya Tucker, and to the hospital/home-bound teachers for their talents and patience. A huge thank you to our dear, loving family of friends whom we can never thank enough.

We have been blessed with love, countless prayers, food, gifts, and so much support. Words can not describe how much this has touched our hearts. Thank you from The Enzor family.
