Brittney Tenish Selora Simpson was born March 10, 1988 in Atlanta, Ga., to the proud parents of Gregory Simpson and Lorraine Dozier. She was educated in the Atlanta Public School System and graduated from Mundy’s Mill High School. She studied Business Administration at Strayer University.

She was baptized at New Springfield Baptist Church where she served on the Young Peoples Usher Board, Red Circle Junior Mission, Sunday School and sang in the Early Morning Choir. She was currently attending Word of Life Healing and Deliverance Ministries. Her passion was singing praises to God.

Brittney departed this life Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Brenda J. Dozier.

She leaves to cherish her memory son, S’Nyri D. Anderson; father, Gregory (Valerie) Simpson; mother, Lorraine Dozier, grandfathers, Charles E. Dozier and Eddie Lee (Ginnett) Simpson; grandmother, Vida Simpson; sisters, Keianna Boyd, Michelle and Sharnesha Simpson, Mr. and Mrs. Queoshia Peters, Alicia James, Gayla Burgin and Tekara Williams; brothers, Dairus Simpson, Mr. and Mrs. Shavonta Simpson, Javon Ford and Eric Robinson; great-great aunt, Bertha Dent; and a host of aunts, great aunts, uncles, great uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, 11 a.m., at New Springfield Baptist Church, 2560 Sylvan Road, East Point, Ga. Pastor Robert F. Broughton officated. Interment was at Kennedy Cemetery. Arrangements by Murray Brothers (404) 349-3000.
