A north Fayette homeowner had a big surprise for two would-be burglars who entered a home on Kite Lake Road in north Fayette County Oct. 7.

According to investigators with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner held Anthony Wilson and Franklin Hammock at gunpoint until sheriff’s deputies could arrive on the scene. Wilson, 23, and Hammock, 25, both of Hampton, were charged with burglary.

After the two men were arrested, investigators learned that a third person aided the burglars by providing directions to the victim’s home and an itemized list of valuables inside. That led to the arrest of Adrian McCrory, 23, of Fayetteville, who was charged with party to the crime of burglary.

In other recent activity, Fayette investigators arrested a Fayetteville man for entering an unlocked automobile at a home on Hilo Road in south Fayette County Oct. 2. Joseph William Horn, 21, was charged with one count of entering an automobile.
