Hoke Smith, Jr., 71, of Fayetteville, passed away on Oct. 10, 2011. 

He served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. He then became owner and operator of the Midas Muffler shop in Fayetteville.

Mr. Smith was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoke Smith, Sr. and Margaret Smith; and son, Trey Smith. 

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Smith of 48 years; daughter, Tresca Lee Smith; daughter-in-law, Kerri Smith of Fayetteville; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sallie (Charlie) Barnes of Valdosta; brothers, James (Nadezda) Smith of Mableton and Russell (Barbara) Smith of Wilmington, N.C.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.  Reverend Mark Westmoreland officiated. The family received friends on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 from 3 – 5 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Those desiring may make donations to the Fayette Youth Protection Home or the Fayette Hospital Auxiliary Fund.
