Greek pastries available for the holidays
Philoptochos Society (Friend of the Poor) of St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church is holding its annual Greek Pastry Sale in time for the holidays. Frozen Spanakopites (spinach/feta triangles in filo dough) and Tiropites (cheese triangles) are $10 per dozen. Baklava (sweet nut/filo layers) is $18 per dozen and Kourambiethes (butter almond cookies with powdered sugar) are $15 per dozen. Order by Nov. 4 at 770-487-0078 or email helenngeorge@comcast.net. Pickup dates: Nov. 18 and 19. All proceeds go to charity.

Holy Trinity taking vendor applications
Vendor applications are being accepted now for Holy Trinity Catholic Church’s First Annual Holiday Bazaar set for Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday Dec. 11. Hopewell’s Pumpkin Patch now open
The annual Hopewell United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch is nowl open for business. All proceeds go toward mission projects at the church. The Patch will be open Monday through Saturday from noon until 7 p.m., and Sunday from 12:30 to 7 p.m. at the church. The Patch offers pumpkins in a variety of sizes and at various prices. Bethany to host craft show
Bethany United Methodist Church will host a craft show on Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. For information, call the church, 770-964- 6999. Bethany is at 607 Rivers Rd. Fayetteville (where Rivers and Milam meet at Lee’s Lake Road in north Fayette County).

Brooks UMC plans fall festival
The community is invited to celebrate fall at Brooks United Methodist Church on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be trunk o’ treating from 5 to 6 and carnival games from 6 – 7 p.m. Halloween costumes and candy bags are encouraged. The Brooks Methodist Women’s group will serve soup, cornbread and hotdogs for donations. Proceeds will be used to help sponsor church missionaries. Brooks UMC is at the corner of Ga. Perlieu Stew coming up this month
Bethany United Methodist Church will offer its famous Perlieu Stew Saturday, Oct. 29 from noon until 5 p.m. or until the stew is sold out. Plates are $8 for adults and $5 for children. Pints of stew are $6 and quarts are $10. Bethany is at 607 Rivers Rd. Fayetteville (where Rivers and Milam meet at Lee’s Lake Road in north Fayette County).

Woolsey announces fall festival
The annual Fall Festival of Woolsey Baptist Church will be Monday night, Oct. 31, from 6 – 8 p.m. There will be fun activities for the whole family, including: games, candy, cake-walk, trunk or treat, hot dogs, popcorn, and more. CDM plans seminar Oct. 15
Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM) will host a seminar titled Prophet Chambers Training Saturday, Oct.15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The speaker will be Prophet Timothy Frazier. The training is for those who feel called to the office of the prophet and for those who want to understand the role of the prophet in the 21st century.
