Mrs. Betty Hansard of Tyrone, passed away Sept. 23, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hansard, father, H. L. McElwaney, and brother, Danny McElwaney.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Knowles and her husband Jerry of Tyrone; son, Wayne Hansard and his wife Charlene of Tyrone; mother, Ruby McElwaney of Tyrone; sisters, Carolyn Chastain and her husband Tommy Joe of Tyrone; Sandra Prince and her husband James of Tyrone; Jane Palmer and her husband Don of Tyrone; Pam Vaughn and her husband Greg of Fayetteville; brothers, Franklin McElwaney and his wife Francine of Crossett, Ariz.; Ronald McElwaney and his wife Joy of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jody Knowles and his wife Kali and Julie Knowles; uncles, Howard Blair and his wife Louise of Tyrone; aunt, Dora Slaton of Tyrone; sister-in-law, Ann Hansard of Tyrone; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Chaplain Asa Mangham and Rev. Billy Beard officiated. Interment followed at Sharon Memorial Gardens.
